The Dryden Police would like to remind the public of another scam that’s hit the region.
The recipient will receive a notice via mail or the internet, asking about their banking information so that they can assist in a money transfer.
The victim will then be sent a fake cheque or money order and be told to keep some of the money as a thank-you gesture, and then transfer the remainder.
In the end, the document ends up being complete bogus, and the victim is left on the hook for the money.
Police want to remind the public to ignore any kinds of these requests.
