The Annual Royal Canadian Legion “Poppy Campaign” will be rolled out starting Friday morning.
Poppies will be available at some 50 Dryden-area businesses, stores, banks, restaurants and other centres.
Brian Buffett was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday to encourage everyone to wear a poppy in support of our troops, both past and present.
Buffett stresses you don’t have to make a donation. If you decide to spare some change, all money collected will support three major initiatives.
That includes providing support for veterans in need and a Legion commitment to the CT Scan Unit at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Proceeds also help the local Army Cadet Program in Dryden and the Air Cadet Program in Vermilion Bay.
The Cadets will be at Walmart, Tim Horton’s and Canadian Tire in full uniform on Saturday for a “Poppy Blitz”.
