The Dryden Shriners Club is making an investment to help cover travel costs for those needing medical treatment.
The organization has made a $6,000 donation to the Khartum Transportation Fund.
Andrew Skene says they send patients to two Shriners Hospitals in Montreal and Minnesota.
Skene says the cost of travel for someone to just go for a doctors appointment is around $3,000.
On the high end, a trip requiring surgery and boarding can cost up to $18,000.
Skene says the donation was possible thanks to ongoing support to the Shrine Circus and Christmas Cake sales.
