Dryden Snipers Win Gold South Of Border; Dryden Atom Teams In Cochenour

A memorable weekend for the Dryden Snipers Girls hockey team.

The Snipers were in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on the weekend for an Under-12 tournament. Dryden went undefeated to win gold.

The Snipers knocked off Warroad 5-1 in the championship game.

Warroad had lost only one game the entire season.

In Cochenour, three Dryden Atom Hockey teams were involved in championship play.

The Black Sheep fell to the Sioux Panthers in the Gold medal game.

The Dryden Tigers won the ‘B’ side title with an 8-3 win over Red Lake.

The Kenora Lightning defeated the Dryden Marlies in the ‘C’ side final.

Dryden and Sioux Lookout teams had a great weekend at the Red Lake Atom tourney held this past weekend.

The Sioux Panthers took home the A side final defeating the Dryden Black Sheep.

The Panthers were tough to beat the entire weekend with a perfect record throughout.

The Black Sheep played their first A side final paced by the strong play of goaltender Sophie Delorme and first time goals scorers Seth Langdon and Ethan Russell.

In the B side final the Dryden Tigers paced by a strong offensive weekend from Carter Langlais, Emmerson Moir and Carter Trach defeated the Red Lake Rams 8-3.

Continuing a theme throughout the weekend the Dryden Tigers got outstanding goaltending from Karstin Boss.

The Dryden Marlies ended up round robin play 2-1 backstopped by their keeper Andrew Ross.

Tyler Kowalchuk and Brody Jonassen each scored three goals in round robin play pacing the Marlies.

In the C side final the offence sputtered and they lost out to the Kenora Blue Lightning.

The players were the beneficiaries of an outstanding Skills competition mid tournament put on by the Red Lake Rams.
