A state of emergency remains in place in the northern community of Wapekeka First Nation.
Three youth suicides this year has rocked the community of roughly 400.
Dryden’s Leanne Nicholson continues to support the First Nation in the healing process through her experience in teaching art.
She believes utilizing art is helping youth express their feelings and opening the lines of communication.
Nicholson says she’s always on the lookout for more donations of arts supplies.
She is asking the public to be aware and understanding of the situation.
