Dryden Trillium/Lions Support Community Projects

The Dryden Trillium and Dryden Lions Clubs are giving back to the community.

The organizations handed out $15,000 to a number of area groups Wednesday as part of their Jeep and Kayak raffle draw.

Trillium Fundraising Chair Wendy Wiedenhoeft says they select groups that fit with their mandate.

Wiedenhoeft says that includes vision, youth, diabetes and childhood cancers.

She stresses supporting those initiatives are very important to the club.

This was the 10th year of the draw and Wiedenhoeft thanks the community for their support.

Recipients include the Dryden Regional Health Centre Equipment Fund, Dryden Lions Medical Assistance Fund, Camp Quality, Lions CNIB Lake Joseph Transportation Project, Making Connections for Children and Youth in Dryden, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Dryden Public Library, Special Olympics Dryden and Dryden Skating Club.
