The Northern Bands Hockey Tournament is officially underway.
Opening ceremonies were held last night at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
Mayor Craig Nuttall says the week long event is a positive for merchants and the community and it shows that Dryden is open for business.
Nuttall stresses it’s a great economic boost for the community and it’s a great opportunity for the players to showcase their skills.
He notes the City has already booked the Little Bands Hockey Tournament for next year and he’s hoping to secure this tournament.
Nuttall promises next year will be bigger and better.
24 teams from across the north are competing in the tournament.
