Dryden Working on Official Plan

Work on drafting a new Official Plan for Dryden is now underway.
A public workshop was held Wednesday night and while the numbers were small, the input was valuable.
The need for housing was one of the common themes at the workshop; including affordable housing, seniors and accommodating new residents from the Far North.
Participants also spoke on the need to utilize City green spaces and the growing health care system.
Expanding and diversifying the economy and utilizing our waterfront were seen as other priorities, while protecting our cultural assets was a theme throughout.
Consultant Jim Dyment will now collect all of the information provided and release a final report on the Official plan in the near future.
The new plan will guide the City through the next 25-years.
