Four area School Boards have agreed on a new harmonized Transportation policy. (Keewatin-Patricia, Kenora Catholic, Northwest Catholic and CSDC des Aurores boreales)
Judy Green is the Manager of the Northwestern Ontario Students Services Consortium and says the new policy takes effect in September.
Green says there should be no significant change for students and parents.
Service levels will be the same for all students as opposed to different rules and regulations for individual boards.
Green says the new policy is available on the Consortium’s website. (www.nwobus.ca)
The site offers a sign-up service for parents and bus alerts in the event of weather cancellations, mechanical failure or late buses.
It also outlines the new school bus eligibility distances.
