Dryden Youth Soccer Getting New Multi-Use Building

It looks as if a new Multi-Use Building will be constructed this Summer for Dryden Youth Soccer.

Council appears to be on board with an agreement reached between the organization and the City.

Manager of Community and Development Services Bob Cunningham believes the facility will be an economic generator for both the organization and the City.

Cunningham says the building will help grow Soccer in the community, attract major tournaments and help in the growth of Rotary Park.

The municipality is being asked to share half of the cost of bringing sewer and water to the building as well as a road linking the structure with the parking lot.

The combined total being requested by Dryden Youth Soccer from the municipality comes to roughly $73,000.

According to a report to Council, the project will be funded by: $18,000-service in kind and the deferral of $11,000 in anticipated revenues from the operating budget each year for the next five years.

The new building will include public washrooms, a kitchen, ref rooms, a lobby area and a large roofed outdoor deck.

Future plans call for change rooms.

Council is expected to finalize the agreement next Monday.
