There will be a lot of belt tightening the final two months of the year.
The City of Dryden is currently looking at a roughly $2.3-million deficit for 2013, $190,518 higher than original estimates.
Treasurer Adrienne Bodnarchuk stresses these are conservative figures and a lot could change before December 31st.
For example about 86% of the snow removal budget for 2013 has already been used.
There are also concerns about repairs and equipment upgrades.
Bodnarchuk says there are a number of factors behind the deficit increase.
Provincial Offences is looking at a $153,000 shortfall, night guard wages are $85,000 over budget, the child care program is staring at a $130,000 shortfall and water and sewer revenue is $106,000 below expectations.
Consulting fees and wages are also factors.
Bodnarchuk says all managers know the situation and are looking at savings across the board.
