High honours for Dryden golfer Kirk Markowski.
Markowski and his Lawrence Technological University Men’s Golf teammates have been named 2016-2017 American Scholars.
The announcement was made by the Golf Coaches Association of America and only 20 student-athletes from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics earned the honour.
To be eligible, golfers must maintain a 3.2 grade-point average, a stroke average under 78, participated in 50-percent of the team’s competitions and be of high moral character and in good standing at their school.
