A former resident of Dryden has been selected to represent Canada at the IFMA World Muay Thai championships in Cancun, Mexico in May.
Sarah Carter says an absolute honour to be selected to fight for her country on the International stage.
Even though the sport is not yet in the Olympics, Carter notes this is an Olympic sanctioned event, with some of the top fighters in the World taking part.
Carter says the invite is both unnerving and exciting, as she doesn’t know what to expect.
She says the invite makes all of the work she has put into the sport in and out of the gym all worth it.
Muay Thai encompasses punches, kicks, elbows and knees, and is growing in popularity across the globe.
