Some clarification about the Visitor Information Center in Dryden.
Manager Dana Soucie says that they are not ending their partnership, only that they have not renewed a space agreement with the Chamber Building.
Soucie says they are not sure what’s going to happen after October, adding that she runs it remotely during the off season.
In addition, Soucie says that while there are budget cutbacks, they have applied for funding to employ students this summer.
Members of Council believe it’s important to keep the Centre open because it spurs economic growth in the community.
Chamber of Commerce President Gwen Kurz says the Visitor Centre receives 3-thousand visitors a year.
