Duke Street closed in downtown Dryden

Drivers in Dryden are being advised of a major road closure in the downtown core today.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say Duke Street is closed between Casimir Avenue and Earl Avenue. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and plan alternate routes where possible.

The closure comes one day after King Street was shut down between Government Road and Earl Avenue due to a police investigation. During that incident, OPP advised of an increased police presence and confirmed there was no threat to public safety.

Police have not said whether today’s Duke Street closure is connected to yesterday’s investigation on King Street.

No additional details have been released, and there is no word yet on when Duke Street will reopen.
