Eagle River School has been vacated and the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has decided to consider the facility designated for closure.
Staff and students have transferred to other schools after enrolment was down to 13 at the start of the year.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson says the numbers indicate that something has to be done and other facilities have been able to facilitate the extra bodies.
Wilkenson says the closure still has to be finalized pending public consultations the next 2 months.
The former Eagle River School Council Chair says students and parents have adjusted to the new arrangements.
