Eagles And Muskies Win Semi-Final Opening Games

The Dryden Eagles Girls High School hockey team has drawn first blood in their Best-of-3 Semi-Final with Red Lake.
The Eagles shutdown the Rams 4-2 Sunday at the Memorial Arena.
Coach Tim Getson says they had a great defensive effort, great goaltending and a strong penalty kill.
Getson says they hope to play another strong defensive game for game 2 at a smaller Cochenour Arena.
CJ Jolicoeur made 17 saves for the win.
Brenna Stratford, Elizabeth Carter, Martina Wintle and Liv Carter scored for Dryden.
Darci Mann and Sarah Dodic replied for Red Lake.
Game 2 is Tuesday night in Red Lake at 7:30.
The other opening Semi-Final game went to overtime.
The Fort Frances Muskies needed extra time to defeat the Beaver Brae Broncos 4-3 Sunday.
