Eagles And Rams Nordic Skiers Compete At OFSAA

Local skiers have returned home from the All-Ontario High School Nordic championships in Timmins.

Dryden’s Corrin Kuzemchuk posted the top result with a 33rd place performance in the Senior Girls 5-kilometre race.

A total of 137-competitors raced in the event.

Payton Zilkalns was 77th.

In the Senior Boys 7-kilometre race, Red Lake’s William Paterson finished 42nd out of 147-competitors, while Dryden’s Devan Schmidt was 82nd.

In the Junior competition, Red Lake’s Kai Parrish posted the best time of just over 15-minutes to finish 31st out of 134-racers in the 5-kilometre race.

Dryden’s Nicholas Peters was 66th, while Red Lake’s Brandon Plante was just behind at 67th.

In the Girls division, Dryden’s Sarah Urquhart was the only competitor participating.

She finished 102nd out of 141 racers.
