The Sioux Lookout Friendship Accord is expected to be signed Friday afternoon in Thunder Bay that will potentially pave the way towards new mining development in the area.
Kenora MP Bob Nault says there are three opportunities at stake in the Sioux Lookout area.
He says they are small mining opportunities, but stresses they are important for the region and will be a job creator.
Nault believes the expected agreement will pave the way for more mining development in the northwest.
The partnership is a joint venture between Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake, the First Mining Finance Corporation and several First Nations including Lac Seul, Cat Lake, Slate Falls and Big Trout Lake.
