A tough start to the season for the Dryden Eagles High School Football team.
The Eagles were smothered 35-0 by the Elmwood Giants Friday night.
Coach Geoff Zilkalns says they were victimized by ill-timed penalties and challenging field position.
Zilkalns adds that when they were able to move the ball, they couldn’t punch it into the end zone.
He was happy with the defensive line as they recorded 3-sacks and stopped the Giants run game.
Dryden now prepares for the big night game at Harry McMaster Field on September 12th.
The Eagles will tackle the Fort Frances Muskies under the lights.
The game will feature the official opening of the new track, contests, food concessions, prizes and special ceremonies.
