A tough way to end the season for the Dryden Eagles High School Boys Hockey team.
The Eagles couldn’t keep a solid start going for the full game in a 10-3 loss to the Fort Frances Muskies Monday night.
Co-Coach Darryl Mousseau says they executed their game plan perfectly in the first period but couldn’t keep it going.
Mousseau notes they knew Fort Frances would come out flying in the second and says they didn’t match their intensity.
He admits his team simply ran out of gas, especially on the back end where the team had to convert forwards to defenceman.
Mousseau says his kids did well and it was a successful season.
Trey Palermo, Cam Zappitelli and Zack Lugli scored for Dryden.
Fort Frances took the Best-of-3 Semi-Final in two games.
The Muskies will face the Beaver Brae Broncos in the championship final.
The Broncos held on for a 5-4 win against cross-town rival St. Thomas Aquinas last night in the third and final game.
