Another defensive masterpiece delivered by the Dryden Eagles High School Football team.
The Eagles recorded two sacks and an interception and easily won the battle of field position in a 14-3 win over the visiting Crocus Plains Plainsmen Friday at the Homecoming Game at Harry McMaster Field.
Tanner Montgomery was credited with the pick, snuffing out a rare drive by the Brandon team.
The Dryden defence also forced the Plainsmen Special teams to conceded two safeties.
The only major came in the first quarter when Jarett Hicks hooked up with Kadin Taylor on a slick passing play.
Caleb Oberg iced the game in the fourth quarter with a 38-yard field goal.
Dryden improves to 3-0 and still hasn’t allowed a touchdown.
The Eagles will face Portage next Thursday in a rematch of last years ‘A’ championship game.
Montgomery and Taylor talk with CKDR about the win.
The game was also a fundraiser of the family of Sterling Warren, a former Eagle standout who passed away suddenly this past Summer.
After the game the players presented a box full of donations to mom Shirley McLean.
