“Senator Beyak’s most recent comments continue to show her own ignorance towards Indigenous history and lack of respect for the common goal of reconciliation.”
That is a recent quote coming from Kenora MP Bob Nault claiming “the Senator does not speak for the North”.
Nault also mentions that Beyak “can no longer effectively serve Northwestern Ontario in this limited capacity and her views towards the Indigenous population are terribly misguided.”
He says this since Beyak has been removed from all Senate committees due to her recent comments suggesting aboriginal residents should turn in their status cards in exchange for Canadian citizenship.
The Federal MP also says “she cannot be forced out by peers or caucus, but I encourage her to resign.”
Senator #LynnBeyak Should Simply Resign Let me be clear: the Senator does not speak for the North. https://t.co/NM8YXTFOW8 … #cdnpoli
