Ice Dogs Open Season With Big Win

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs looked in mid-season forum Friday night to begin defence of their SIJHL championship.

The Ice Dogs scored twice in the opening minute and added two more in the first period en route to a 9-1 win over the English River Miners.

Jacen Bracko, Wyatt Lawrance and Evan Walls each scored a pair of goals.

Cam Lockard, Brandon Lawson and Josh Sylvain added singles.

Kyle Rosolowski scored the lone goal for the Miners.

Michael Lenko started the game for English River but only lasted ten minutes.

The returning goalie allowed four goals on 11 shots.

Justin Anderson made 22-saves for Dryden GM.

In other action, the Thief River Falls Norskies defeated the Fort Frances Lakers 5-4 in a shootout.

Saturday night, the Thunder Bay North Stars travel to Hoyt Lakes to face the new look Iron Rangers.

Fort Frances heads south of the border as well in a rematch against the Norskies.
