A shorthanded Dryden Eagles Boys High School Hockey team failed to go away and battled the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas Saints to the bitter end Monday night.
The Eagles couldn’t hold on to a 4-2 third period lead, allowing the Saints to take a 7-4 advantage, but didn’t give up.
Dryden scored two goals in the final minute-thirty and almost netted the game tying goal before falling 7-6.
Kohl Wrolstad and Evan Armit both scored a pair of goals, while Karson Bibeau and Nathan Ho added singles.
In other action, the Sioux North Warriors downed visiting Red Lake 8-1 to earn a two game sweep.
