Eagles Girls Hand Saints First Loss Of Year

A statement win for the Dryden Eagles Girls High School Hockey team Wednesday night.

The Eagles handed the St.Thomas Aquinas Saints their first loss of the year with a convincing 5-2 victory in Kenora.

Both teams now have one loss in regular season play.

Dryden controlled the tempo of the game from start to finish.

Michaela Morrison scored the third period winner and added two assists.

Saige McLeod had a goal and two assists.

Hailee Lundmark and Lauryn Loyer also found the back of the net, while Maddie McDonald iced the game with an empty netter.

Dryden outshot the Saints 28-21, with Brynn Montgomery making several key saves to secure the win.
