It was a battle but the Dryden Eagles are headed to the Final Four in the Winnipeg High School Football League.
The Eagles survived a physical, knock you down affair, downing the Neelin Spartans from Brandon 46-12 Friday in Dryden.
The ‘Blue and Gold’ allowed the first touchdown of the game for only the second time this season, thanks in part to a blocked punt.
However, the Eagles would respond in the second quarter and kept the momentum going in a time consuming third quarter.
Liam Wrolstad powered the Dryden attack with touchdown runs of 50-yards, 11-yards and 1-yard.
Aiden Bibeau rumbled in for 20-yards, while Jarett Hicks had major scores of 3 yards and 1 yard.
Cale Oberg kicked a field-goal, while the Eagles defence forced a safety.
The game featured a number of penalties and huge hits and saw both teams struggle with damp conditions, with a couple of key fumbles.
Dryden will now prepare for the Semi-Final, scheduled for next Thursday in Winnipeg.
Here is Kadin Taylor and Cameron Desjardins on the victory.
