The Golden Learning Centre in Red Lake has become the first and only school north of Sault Ste. Marie to be certified for their commitment to the environment.
Jack McMaster is the Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says the School has attained EcoSchools certification status.
The certification recognizes energy conservation, waste management, ecological literacy and green initiatives.
McMaster says he believes other schools, like the new Dryden school, will soon follow.
