Education Minister Defends Halt In Funding For School Upgrades

Ontario’s Education Minister says her office is now working with school boards on plans to fix aging schools.

The PC’s have halted a Liberal promise of $100-million for facility upgrades, funding raised through the Cap and Trade program.

Speaking at Queen’s Park, Lisa Thompson says they need another option to bring forward needed renovations in a timely and cost effective manner.

Thompson also blames the previous Liberal government for the state of schools today.
