Ontario Special Investigations Unit says most of its investigations conducted in northwestern Ontario have results in no charges being laid.
The SIU was called to our region 13 times in 2017.
Most of the cases involved individuals in police custody being injured.
One case looked at allegations of sexual assault.
The SIU has since been able to clear four of those cases and found no criminal wrongdoing of the officers involved.
Four others were terminated.
Five remain under investigation.
