The provincial government isn’t sounding very conciliatory about the state of contract talks with its elementary teachers.
In the Ontario Legislature, Education Minister Liz Sandals notes several teachers unions have approved deals with the province.
She’s wondering why the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario hasn’t accepted their latest contract offer.
In the Legislature, Sandals says the deal offered to elementary teachers is similar to the one already agreed to by three other unions.
She asked what’s wrong with the deal that everyone has agreed to.
Sandals adds they are still waiting for a response from the elementary teachers to the latest contract proposal.
