The Save the Experimental Lakes Area movement may be paying off.
Forums were held in Sioux Lookout and Kenora yesterday and Peter Kirby says the government has already shown some
willingness to change their stance on the facility.
Kirby notes the Feds have now agreed to transfer the ELA.
Kirby says he’s hopeful that the government is sincere in their claim to find a new ownership group for the facility.
He adds that the public should continue to pressure their government by continuing to write letters to members of legislature and parliament.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Bruce Hyer attended the Kenora public meeting and he stressed how impressed he was to see how local residents have rallied behind this cause.
Hyer says he will continue his bid to keep the facility open and that anyone with questions can feel free to contact him by email.
