The Experimental Lakes Area, west of Vermilion Bay is celebrating a big birthday.
The ELA turns 50 years old this Spring.
Deputy Director Pauline Gerrard says they are encouraging local schools and teachers to contact them to check out what they are working on.
She says they conduct tours to promote their experiments and what the ELA has to offer.
Gerrard says they are planning special anniversary events in Kenora, Winnipeg and even Ottawa this year.
