Elderly Man Dies in Vehicle-Train Collision

Fort Frances OPP are trying to figure out why an elderly man failed to stop at a rail crossing on Highway 617 in Stratton last Friday.
92-year-old Donald Robert Bolen of Morley Township died when his vehicle was struck by a freight train on the CN Railway tracks.
Both OPP and CN Rail Police say the red lights at the crossing were flashing and operating properly at the time of the mishap.
A post mortem examination is taking place in Kenora at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
