There is plenty of interest in the municipal election in Red Lake.
Sandy Middleton and Fred Mota are both looking to make the jump from Councillor to Mayor.
They are joined by Dale Kosie and Gary Gazankas for the top post in the community.
Running for Council right now includes incumbents Carol Baron and Jack Goodwillie as well as Tom Doherty, Mike Desmeules, Samantha Dykin, Gene Vallee, Janet Hager, Allistair McRae, Warren Badiuk, Dale Butterfield, Jamie Kristoff and Ted Nowakoski.
Two are in the running for Mayor in Ear Falls.
Kevin Kahoot is being challenged by Lynne Reynolds.
Right now Dan Sutton is the only one seeking re-election for Council.
Newcomers include Dutchie Loman, Angela Williamson, Wendy Pearson, David Carroll and Robert De Keyser.
There are four open Council seats in Red Lake and Ear Falls.
The deadline to file nomination papers is 2:00 Friday afternoon.
