Elementary Teachers Taking Sex Ed Curriculum To Court

Teachers are taking their fight against changes to the sex ed. curriculum to the courts.

The Elementary Teachers Federation Of Ontario has launched a challenge under the Charter of Freedoms and Rights.

Union President Sam Hammond says there is an easy way of making the issue go away.

“The simple solution here to get rid of the chaos, the uncertainty and the attacks is just to leave the 2015 curriculum in place until the government does what they’ve promised in terms of consultations. That’s how it’s worked for decades.”

ETFO is also seeking an injunction against the so-called snitch-line the Ford Government set up to report teachers who continue to teach the sex-ed and health curriculum that was in place last year.
