Elk Management Plan in Kenora Area

An Elk Management Plan has been drafted to deal with the population of the animals in 4-areas of the province.
While elk numbers have exploded in the Bancroft area, they have dropped off in the Cameron Lake area southeast of Kenora.
Christie Curly is a spokesperson for the Ministry of Natural Resources and says while they don’t plan to import any more elk into Ontario, there has been talk of moving the elk from one part of the province to another.
You can comment on the Elk Management plan by logging onto the Environmental Bill of Rights website.
