The Ministry of Natural Resources has imposed an emergency area order in the Dryden District in order to combat a fire which has been raging out of control for the past week.
Fire Infomation Officer, Travis Moffatt says the order encompasses an area about 20 kilometers southwest of Vermillion Bay.

In the meantime, says sporatic rain over the weekend helped ease the fire situation somewhat in the northwest region.
There were just 15 new fires reported, bringing the number of active fires to just 70.
