Emergency Child Care Now In Vermilion Bay/Sioux Lookout

Emergency child care services are being expanded in the Kenora District.

The Services Board says operators will now be offering the service in Sioux Lookout and Vermilion Bay, in addition to Dryden, Red Lake and Kenora.

-Biidaaban Children’s Centre, Sioux Lookout
-Vermilion Bay & Area Nursery School Cooperative, Vermilion Bay

This comes following the province’s announcement that non school-aged child care will remain open and free emergency child care for school-age children of eligible health care and frontline workers.

Parents and caregivers who apply are asked not to contact the childcare operators directly.

Once eligible workers complete and submit an online application, they will be contacted by the operator in their community if space is available.

Space availability is limited and based on licensing capacity, staff resources, and family needs.
