There’s growing concern for the safety of First Nation students who leave their remote communities to attend high school in Thunder Bay.
A two day emergency meeting for chiefs, elders and municipal leaders is underway in the Lakehead.
Fort William Chief Peter Collins called for solutions to the dangers students face.
Collins says he is looking for some concrete recommends from the gathering.
Acting Mayor Aldo Roberto echoed Collins remarks saying they wanted to make Thunder Bay a better place to live.
Roberto says by working together, they can stop these tragedies from occurring.
