Emergency Order in Wahnagge Lake Area

An emergency order is in place in the Wahnagge Lake area, southwest of
Vermilion Bay, due to a large fire that continues to burn.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the state of emergency restricts
public access to allow waterbombers to safely drop water without fear of
hitting boats or people.
Information Officer Travis Moffatt says a small amount of rain over
the weekend helped their cause.
Access to Rogers Lake and the West Arm of Eagle Lake is prohibited
under the emergency order.
A ban on open burning also remains in effect across Northwestern
Ontario.
