Emergency Room Relocation in Sioux Lookout

Major changes at the Sioux Lookout Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre.
The Board of Directors has approved a motion to relocate the emergency department from the 7th Avenue site to the 5th Avenue site.
Vice-President of Health Services Barb Linkewich says the move will enhance patient care.
Linkewich says it will allow the Hospital to consolidate acute care services at the 5th Avenue site and ambulatory care at the 7th Avenue location.
The move means renovations will have to be conducted to the north wing of the 5th Avenue site to accommodate the Emergency Department, which will result in the kitchen moving to the lower level.
The relocation is expected to be completed July 24th, with minimal disruption on operations.
