The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says its summer literacy programs seem to be paying dividends.
39 elementary school students signed up for the program in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Kenora this year.
The public school board says 90 percent of the students either maintained or improved
their reading levels.
That’s a six percent improvement over last year.
This is the third year in a row the summer reading camp has been offered for kids in Grades 1 to 3.
