The Northwest Catholic District School Board is celebrating the latest results from provincial testing of its grade 3, 6 and 9 students.
Director of Education Director Mary-Catherine Kelly says the results show an improvement over previous years due to a combination of initiatives in the classroom.
Kelly says grade 6-students in Dryden and Sioux Lookout showed significant improvement from the time they wrote the test 3-years ago.
St.Joesph’s School in Dryden is at or above the Provincial Average in the recent reading, writing and match Provincial tests.
Sacred Heart in Sioux Lookout saw a big jump in scores, especially in reading.
Kelly says reading scores at Sacred Heart increased 26%, while students scored 38% better in writing.
