The McGuinty Government’s long awaited electricity announcement for
Northern Ontario Pulp and Paper Mills is drawing mixed reviews.
The Ontario Forest Industries Association is pleased the Province has
rolled out rebates to help company’s cut electricty costs by 15%.
President Jamie Lim says the only problem is it doesn’t help everyone as it does
nothing for Sawmills and Company’s who produce Stand Board.
The plan offers quarterly rebates to Northern Mills that use at least
50,000 megawatte hours a year and agree to become more efficient.
