The President of the Energy East Pipeline is expressing confidence Trans Canada will get approval from the National Energy Board to move forward with the project.
Francois Poirier doesn’t think the recent decline in the world price of oil is going to put a damper on the project.
Poirier says investors and shippers take the long view over 20 years and the expectation is oil prices will be well above where they currently are.
He hopes to start seeing oil flow to the east coast by the end of 2018.
