Over the last week, the Energy East pipeline project has been criticized and praised.
While meeting in Toronto with Alberta Premier Rachel Notley, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne said the project is more environmentally friendly now.
Tim DuBoyce of TransCanada says the company is very happy to hear about support for the project.
DuBoyce notes they will still consult with the province as well as answers any questions they have.
As for a critical report by Montreal-area mayors, DuBoyce says the company will be reading the document and will try to address their concerns in any way they can.
Others say slow growth is one of the problems facing the Canadian economy and Energy East offers a big opportunity in terms of job creation and economic growth.
