Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli says the province and Northwestern Ontario’s Common Voice Energy Task Force are now on the same page.
The group had concerns about the amount of energy available to support the mining industry.
Chiarelli says they’ve had routine meetings and are now in agreement about the direction of the province.
He notes they are ready to accommodate the sector, but stresses help will take some time.
Chiarelli says right now there’s not a lot of concern in the region on energy needs.
He adds another priority of the province is getting local First Nations off diesel power.
