Enrolment Affects School Board Budget

Lower than expected student enrolment is affecting the bottom line of the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Chief Financial Officer Dean Carrie says student numbers are about two percent lower than had been forecast back in the summer.
Carrie says as a result, the board budget will see a reduction of about 540-thousand dollars in grants from the Ministry of Education.
He adds that will mean a deficit of about 70-thousand dollars.
However, Carrie adds that will not mean any staff layoffs.
