Environmental issues are going to become a bigger part of the curriculum in local elementary and secondary schools.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has approved its first ever Environmental Education Policy.
Spokesperson Kathy Boone says the Board is one of the first in Northern Ontario to adopt such a policy.
Boone says the goal of the policy is to increase awareness and to incorporate environmental education into the curriculum.
